In the early 1940's you knew us as House's Flowers.  Mrs. Elva House (a Medina philanthropist) opened her flower shop on North Broadway Street, just a block from the Medina Historic Uptwon Square.  For nearly thirty years she made arrangements for Medina's families and added the finishing touches for their events and occasions.

When she sold the flower shop to Betty & Bob Derrenberger in 1969, they modified House's Flowers into:  The House of Flowers.  Mr. Derrenberger could be seen loading his new Ford Econoline van while the advent of major delivery service took full swing.  They lived above the flower shop in the house on Broadway Street just as Mrs. House did.  When severe illness took Mrs. D away, Mr. D continued to take care of Medina until illness forced him to sell the store in 2001.

In 2001, the new House of Flowers and Gifts expanded five times it's size and moved to the south side of the square on East Smith Road.  The expansion brought gifts, awards, event planning and creativity from a host of on-site designers.  You can request something contemporary, country or traditional and always be delighted! Delivery range has expanded to our bordering counties, now serving most of Cuyahoga and Summit counties as well.

Today, it's very common and has become the signature to our arrangements, to find a gift nestled amongst your floral bouquet.
