Roses

Florist roses are bred to last a long time in a vase. The trade off for longevity is fragrance. Still available are the antique roses that last a few days and they are beautifully fragrant. Your hybrid roses are thirsty, give them plenty of water everyday – everyday. Keep roses away from heating vents, cool draft areas and your TV. Roses look beautiful on the table with sunlight streaming on them - no.  Direct sunlight will shorten the life of your roses. Cut and cut again – with most of the stem is under water, but don't let the bloom get wet. Cutting under water will help prvent air bubbles in the stem (which helps prevent droopy blooms)
